Ban on advertisement of CFDs and binary options in the Netherlands

26/09/2016

Holland to join France in banning CFD and binary options advertising. The Dutch financial markets authority has announced that it will introduce a ban on the advertising of binary options trading and contracts for difference (CFDs) in the country. The Autoriteit Financiële Markten (AFM) imposes the ban in order to help protect investors against activities that encourage dangerous investment. The ban will apply to all Dutch operators as well as those active in the country on a European passport. European supervisors are keen to stop aggressive providers disrupting the single market.
